Restoration & electrification
Keep the character. Reconsider the compromises.
Original in spirit. Refined with restraint. Our approach to restoring and electrifying a classic Fiat 500 begins with deciding what deserves to stay.

What changes when a classic Fiat 500 becomes electric?
The combustion engine gives way to electric propulsion. But replacing the engine is not the whole brief. A vintage Fiat's brakes, suspension, seating and controls all shape the experience, and fitting a new drivetrain does not make those questions disappear.
For Rivivente, electrification sits inside a broader restoration. Front disc brakes, upgraded suspension and improved seating are part of the product direction because a car should feel considered as a whole. The intention is usability, with the original character still at the centre.
Restored, restomod, or electrically converted?
A restoration aims to bring a car back to good condition. A restomod combines restoration with modifications. An electric conversion changes the propulsion. Those descriptions can overlap, but none tells you how thoroughly the body, cabin or supporting mechanical parts have been addressed.
Rivivente combines restoration and discreet electrification. We are not trying to make the 500 look futuristic. Its silhouette, scale and period appearance stay at the heart of the car; changes should earn their place through the way the car feels and works.
An electric car can still have an analog cabin.
A new drivetrain need not dictate a new dashboard. Our approach keeps analog instrumentation and tactile controls, with battery state-of-charge integrated into original-style gauges. Information belongs where a driver expects to find it.
The same restraint applies to modern conveniences. A radio that looks at home in the car can connect to a phone without becoming a large screen. Technology should disappear into the experience. The magic is in the restraint.
A finish is more than fresh paint.
Paint and upholstery are easy to see. The less obvious work is just as important. Rivivente's approach starts with finding the car and stripping it to bare metal, then considers panel alignment, the way doors close, seat foam, leather and the details your hands meet every time you get in.
For anyone considering a restored Fiat 500, useful questions go beyond the colour: what bodywork has been addressed, which supporting systems have been revisited, and what remains original? A coherent restoration answers those questions alongside the finish.
Usable does not mean maintenance-free.
Electrification changes the propulsion system. The car still has tyres, brakes, suspension, bodywork and upholstery that need care. A classic converted to electric remains a classic in important ways.
Before commissioning, discuss the intended journeys, charging arrangements, final specification and ongoing support. Rivivente does not publish unconfirmed range, performance, battery, price or delivery figures. A conversation about the way you will use the car is more useful than an impressive number without context.
